Gourmet Directions: Gourmet Coating is versatile product that can be used on fish, chi cken, chops, burgers, shrimp, wild game, onions, mushrooms, potatoes and other veggies. Use it in soups, stews and gravies as a substitute for flour. Add two or more tablespoons to a large diced sweet onion, fry with butter and use it as a garnish on your burgers or baked potatoes. Can be used as a seasoning for meatballs, burgers, mashed potatoes and sour cream veggie dip. Use your imagination. Fried Fish / Chicken: Cut fish or boneless, skinless chicken breast into pieces. Place gourmet coating on a plate. Dip fish or chicken into water or egg/milk mixture. Coat with gourmet coating.
Pan Frying: Place fish or chicken into canola or olive oil heated to 350° F in an electric skillet. Fry until golden brown. Deep Frying: Dip fish or chicken into water or an egg/milk mixture. Coat with gourmet coating and deep fry at 350° F until golden brown. Note: When deep fat frying, fish and chicken are done when they float to the top of the oil. Grilled Burgers: Mix 6-8 tablespoons of gourmet coating per pound of ground beef or ground pork and grill or fry with onions. Zesty Potatoes: Blend in two tablespoons gourmet coating for each large potato when serving mashed potatoes. Baked or Grilled Fish / Chicken: Mix two parts gourmet coating with one part corn meal. (Use rice flour if you are allergic to corn). Dip fish fillets or chicken strips into equal parts of egg and canola or olive oil. (Beat eggs and oil until frothy). Coat with gourmet coating and corn meal mixture. Oven Baking: Place fish or chicken on a cookie sheet sprayed with cooking oil. Bake fish at 400° F for 20-25 minutes. Bake chicken at 350° F for about one hour. Grilling: Place fish or chicken in a foil pack sprayed with cooking oil. Grill fish at 400° F for about 20-25 minutes. Grill chicken at 350° F for about one hour. Note: When baking or grilling it is not necessary to turn fish or chicken. Baked/Grilled Pork Chops: Place gourmet coating on a plate. Dip pork chops in water and coat with gourmet coating. Oven Baking: Stack pork chops in covered baking dish and bake at 300° F for two hours. Grilling: Place chops in a foil pack sprayed with cooking oil, seal and grill at 350° F for about one hour. Note: Chops can be browned prior to coating. Egg Plant / Zuchinni: Cut egg plant or zuchinni into 1/4" slices, dip into water or egg/milk mixture and coat with gourmet coating. Fry in an electric skillet at 300° F until golden brown. Beer Batter: For a great beer batter mix one part coating and two parts beer. Coat fish, shrimp or onion rings with batter and fry at 350° F until crispy. Baked/Grilled Potato/Onion/Veggie Pack: Cut up 4 large potatoes, one green or red bell pepper, one lar ge sweet onion and 1/3 head of brocolli. Place mixture in a double-lined foil pack. Add 1/4 cup canola or olive oil, or butter. Add 1/2 cup or more of gourmet coating and toss the entire mixture until thoroughly blended. Seal the foil pack and bake or grill at 350° for 1 hour. Add more gourmet coating to taste. Fried Mushrooms/Pickles/Bananas: Use sliced mushrooms, sliced dill pickles or sliced bananas and dip into a mixture of egg/milk or water. Coat with gourmet coating and fry in an electric skillet or deep fry for approximately 4-5 minutes at 350° F - simply deliciuos! For a flavor sure to please the kids, try bananas! Rice with Pheasant/Chicken/Turkey: 1 cup wild rice, soaked overnight; 1 can cream of chicken soup; 1 cup water. Mix together and place in a 2 quart casserole. Dip pheasant in water and coat with gourmet coating. Brown in a small amount of oil. Place browned pheasant on top of rice. Cover and bake at 325° F for one hour. Note: Minute Rice can be used; decrease liquid. Soups, Stews, Gravy: Use two tsp. gourmet coating mix in your favorite can of vegetable soup for a lively flavor. Use a 1/4 cup gourmet coating for each large crock pot or kettle of stew as a seasoning and a thickening agent. Use gourmet coating as a flour and seasoning substitute for a zesty gravy. |
